Michael & Brooke's wedding

I would have to say that this wedding would come close to the biggest bridal party I have ever done! 16 of them! So it was a challenge to say the least but it was a beautiful and magical day and Brooke didn't even have 1 rose in her flowers! Go Brooke! As much as roses are beautiful it is great to see something different..(there were even limes in them yes limes..too cool!) I have known Brooke and her family for many years and its lovely to see this little girl I once new become a beautiful bride..congrats to you both!

Libby & David's hot air ballon wedding!!

This wedding will stay with me for a very long time..Why? Well where do I start??? With the most magical morning you could ever dream of to have a hot air balloon wedding Libby & David were so blessed and so was I to be apart of this special event. My heart skipped a beat when they 1st enquired with me as it has always been my dream to do a wedding in a hot air balloon (more wanted please hehe). So when they booked I was super excited and to top it off I was asked to be their witness as well WOW! What an honour..I felt so special and touched..

The basket was nice and cosy with just enough for the 5 of us..the couple, the celebrant, the balloon operator and of course ME! So very intimate.

I wasn't going to let any part of this special morning go amiss so hence Bec went in another balloon to get the overall view of the couples balloon and then I decided it would be best to have another on the ground as well..(thanks Fi!) So it was well and truly covered...Once we reached a suitable spot and height the ceremony took place and man it was so beautiful! Once the "high" hehe of the trip was over it was then off to have a breakfast where family were waiting for them and we then signed the papers on the ground and we all had breakfast. The couple then had a celebration evening dinner with over 100 people (so more images later). I have included a slide show link below for those of you on pc (sorry mac users).

The wedding was in Yarra Glen with the reception at Chateau Yering. I think the guys were very brave in the 3 piece suits in that heat...

Donna looked stunning in her gown and with the bridesmaids in a slick black timeless gown. Donna & Matthew live overseas so planning this wedding must have had its ups & downs but with the help of many people from here they had a beautiful wedding. this image above was taken JUST before the ceremony and then the images below is just after the ceremony had finished! So the it was amazing how quick it all happened.

Donna thought she would become my budding assistant for the day..hehe

My close call during the fires..

Well these last 2 weeks have not been good ones for alot of people in Victoria. These fires have destroyed so much it is hard to comprehend. On THAT Saturday I actually had a wedding near them! We were unaware how bad they were as you are working and your main focus is on capturing the couples special day. It wasnt until we got to the reception venue and told we were in lock down and couldnt leave that we thought...well dont know what we thought really...I just kept working.

After much waiting we were told we had a very small window to get out NOW...Bec & I ran to the car and drove...and this is what we saw when we left! We had to drive through walls of smoke and flames at the side of the road..it was scary...

Belinda & Brett's wedding

This chic wedding had lots of charm and details..YUM! With tones of black & white and touches of green at the reception, this wedding oozed style.

With the ceremony at a church in Malvern and then it was off to capture some of the bridal party before heading of to the venue "Sails On The Bay".

Marissa at "A Lavish Affair" did a fab job at the venue with all the special touches.

Re the bush fires

I guess everyone by now knows about the grieve and loss of these terrible bush fires.

I haven't had a chance to post this week as yet as I too was there...and shooting a wedding! The heat alone was incredible let alone the smoke and ash etc. I will share the story and images soon.

My heart goes out to all those who have lost....

Carly's "Roaring" 21st

With us all melting in the massive heat wave thought some "cool" images from a 21st is in order! This 21st is certainly one to remember! The theme (1920's tea party with a twist of Alice in wonderland) was pulled off beautifully and all the little details made this a special party for sure. Carly is surly a beautiful person inside and out and I felt honoured to capture this great afternoon. starting with the teacups! everyone had their one special different one which I just loved!

The 2nd post to this wedding will show the amount of incredible details that went into the reception and the whole day. I have never seen a wedding well themed like this before and what was the icing on the cake was having pro lighting guys there creating this unbelievable setting at the reception (money well worth guys!). I could have not got some of the images I did without them and their lights...so enjoy...

I am slowly getting caught up on my blogging! Lets hope this year I get a chance to post a little more.

Rahni & Trent are this amazing fun loving couple and I felt blessed to be apart of their special day. The weather leading up to the day wasnt looking good but on the day the sun appeared! The wedding was down at Lorne and it was all just perfect.

Rahni was such a champ climbing up on these rocks and the waves came up on her feet...but she just ran with it and had a ball..

Here is part 2 of Junna & Antonys wedding day. You might remember them from their "E-Session" I did a few months back here

Her gown was created by the amazing and fab Shane McConnell and Penny her wedding planner ( here ) pulled together a wow feast of details for me to photograph..go Penny! Well enough typing as I am sure you are just wanting IMAGES!

I so loved the bridesmaids dresses...

A chocolate fountain was also there for all to enjoy!

Penny had hung all different goodies on huge tress in the venue!

and curtains along with a lighting company put an extra wow to the venue space.

With Christmas nearly upon us things are getting more than a little crazy..but I so want to share some images from some amazing weddings that I have been capturing! Jessica & Leigh live overseas and with the help of family and friends pulled of a detailed full wedding that made my eyes pop with joy...we were off to a good start when I spied a "Tiffanys" box and then the "Jimmy Choo" shoes! A girl with style ;)

Got to LOVE peonies! what a shame they are only available about 2 months of the year here..sigh

Jessica was just like this beautiful doll that you could just box up...

Nicole & Adrian

Nicole & Adrian's wedding day, weather wise was wet, windy and wild! to say the least. But that was not going to stop this fun loving couple having fun. And due to the weather we did all the photos in lightening speed and managed to beat the rain...well nearly as you will see in 1 shot. We got through 5 totally different locations in just 24 mins of shooting time (plus some travel time). I hear so many times from couples thinking they need at least 2 hours..but hopefuly these photos will speak for themselves as I am sure they dont look rushed but instead having fun, which to me is what it is all about. Once the photos were done we headed off to the fab reception venue The Royce Hotel.Nicole had this beautiful detail on her gown...

Well these two would have to be the cruisiest (is there such a word? hehe) couple. Jodie reminds me of a saying I once read "A calm bride is a beautiful bride". Mind you I am very lucky with my brides, I haven't had a bride freak out for many years haha...

I photographed Jodie as a bridesmaid in a wedding a few years back and now it was her turn....

The weather looked very dark and the skies rough but we only started to get a little rain at the very end! The flowers were great and had berries painted to go with the bridesmaid..

these 2 sisters were the most angel of flowergirls. I have photographed their mum & dad's wedding day and even when they were little. It is great to see them growing into beautiful well mannered little girls.

we managed to stop by a winery that Jodie's dad organised for us to take a few shots at..

and Jodie is a travel agent so what better place to go than an airport! hehe

Gosh I am sooo far behind in posting weddings that I hang my head in shame! But better late than never right?!? I will be doing this wedding in 2 parts as there was alot happening so we will start with a few of them prior to the ceremony. Bianca & Nathan's wedding

Some of you might remember this cute couple from here with images from their e-session.

And yes this is the same fab location as the wedding below Chateau Yering (I so love this place!). The great thing with Chateau Yering is that no matter how many times I go there EVERY wedding is still unique and I still manage to find different location spots all the time to photograph in. Every season brings unique vistas to this beautiful place. So enjoy....

Well the wedding season is well under way and I thought it has been a while since I have posted a wedding!!! Oh my where is the time going!?!?

I guess alot of you are in the same boat and wondering where the year has gone.

Well with November only a couple of days away the cut off date for most things is at an end and

we only have 2 maybe 3 sessions left that we could maybe do in order to get prints done for Christmas. So please call (9755 7000) NOW and dont wait till like a week or 2 before Christmas.

Golly gosh! I cant believe it has been 10 days since my last blog! And I have so much that I havent shared yet...I first photographed this beautiful family about 18 months ago, well the 2 girls have surely grown and I thought I would take them to a location with a twist..so to speak...well it was a FLOOD BASIN! Im not sure if they were looking at each other side ways when I took them here, but lucky we had not had rain the few days prior or this would not have worked at all..the weather was a little windy but we made it work ;)

Mum wanted something a little different than the norm for the girls images (no straight down the camera smiles here! YAY) so enjoy...

The location was "BON BEACH" right here in Melbourne! I know I would have loved to say somewhere like Fiji or the Gold Coast or something..but nope right at our back door and in the middle of WINTER!!!!

Su Li & Andrew's Wedding!

Su-Li and Andrew had a beautiful day for their city wedding.

1st off Andrew had to met Su-Li and her family at her house and tried to get in the door..a few fun games there ;)

Then once he made his way through the door a traditional tea ceremony followed. Once all that was completed it was off to have their photo shoot at various locations before the evening ceremony and reception at "Zinc".take a look at ALL those camreas (and thats only about half of them) LOL! I am in there somewhere hehe..you guys do break the record for the most cameras at a wedding for sure! a view of the back of her beautiful gown..

OMG! Yes its ME Vanessa! It seems WAY to long since I have posted...but good 'ol Bec has been keeping you all updated at whats been going on...I just cant believe how busy we have been and it is nearly Winter! (its meant to be the slow down time..but cant see that happening any time soon).

Well as some of you might know I went up to Port Douglas to capture this cute couples wedding. Gosh the weather was beautiful (well a little windy on the beach...) It was an amazing day and of course Lisa looked after my fetish for details in a BIG way!!..GO lisa!!) So I shall do 2 posts for these guys as I know you are eager to see some and I will follow with more images of you both after the ceremony soon;)

How gorgeous are these sisters. Charlie and Alycia came here to our outdoor studio on the most perfect day...and all the autumn leaves had started to fall! The colours were just amazing. Seen as Vanessa is too modest about this i have decided to put up a post while she's editing another wedding :) Each year the WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) hold annual awards where photographers can enter their images to be judged. There are thousands of prints entered every year and Vanessa got third!!!! Here is the image for which she received this high honour:

OH MY..what a whirl wind few months I have had!

And THIS is meant to be the time where things SLOW down! NOPE not here!

I have just got back from a beautiful wedding up in Port Douglas (stay tuned for THOSE images!) and also took just a couple extra days off as I hadnt had 2 days off straight since..Ooo Jan! Yip Jan!

So with a couple of R & R days under my belt and all refreshed I cant wait to share what has been happening around here..some will be old news LOL (as I havent had a chance to post it!) and some will be lastest news as LOTS are going on around HERE at the moment!

Somewhere Over The Rainbow...

Well Vanessa can now officially say she has photographed dresses every colour of the rainbow! Because we had a rainbow bride! This wedding took place up in Sydney on Chinamens beach...and though it was one of the most laid back weddings we have ever photographed it was far from ordinary! For the wedding of Anya and David everything was perfect...and rainbow!

The rainbow theme was evident throughout every detail, the cake, the ribbon veil, the handmade ribbon bouquet (which was just stunning), the umbrellas for the bridesmaid's and the lanterns and ribbon decorations which scattered the beach.

As Vanessa is busy busy busy with wedding editing I've snatched some pictures from one of our recent weddings to share! So here it is...Amanda & Frank!

They were very lucky with gorgeous weather, perfect for their beautiful Beaumaris location. The whole day had a very relaxed feel to it, i think due to the fact that they opted to have their photos prior to the ceremony. Which has been happening quiet a bit lately. It takes alot of pressure off the couple and it seems to make the event alot less stressful! Well this was no ordinary country wedding! The location, ( Mountview Estate) details her gown and head piece....WOW, and with a Moroccan theme (which was amazing). Hi Girls... Anyhow... we have been logging on to your blogspot every couple of days to see if you had put up any pics! Saw the first 2 that you put up back on 3 March and absolutely loved them... Then I got a text message from my mum at 3am (italy time) the other day saying I should check out the blog... WOW!!! We are so excited by what you've posted and, even though we want the next 3 weeks to last as long as possible(!?!), we can't wait to get back so that we can go through all the photo's... Vanessa - you've done an amazing job, just like I knew you would!... As far as the story behind the dress... well there isn't one really... as you know Vanessa, I'm not really a traditional type of gal... Gav and I have been to numerous weddings over the past 4 years and there's a theme running through them all... white strapless dresses - looking back, even though each of the brides looked beautiful, I can't remember their dresses and in my memory they all wore the same dress! Harsh maybe... but I figured that you get one chance to wear an amazing dress and I wanted to wear something that I loved and that made a statement... I suppose something that would make jaws drop without being "what was she thinking"... and since I never wear white and my favourite colour is teal... I thought hell... why not? Then came the hard task of finding someone to design and make the dress of my dreams... I searched online for couture designers who made dresses in colour and stumbled accross Wildberry's website... as you know, from there I found not only my photographer, but also got a referral to Zhanel where Ange and I collaborated to ensure the dress as you see it now! Hope that answers your questions! As I said... really looking forward to seeing the rest of the pics :)

Re Jackie's gown!

Sorry everyone...I have been over loaded with emails and also a comment from "Jane" (left on my blog..) re her gown. I was going to write more about the wedding etc in the next post as I am WAYYYY neck deep in work and getting a little behind and just wanted to get a couple up for all those wanting a peak till I could get the rest up.

A couple of facts that I do know is the gown was designed and created at Zhanel.

I have photographed a number of their amazing gowns (all but 1 image on the site are mine ;) Re the colour I know Jackie just LOVES that colour...so why not wear it then hehe..

But I would love to get the WHOLE story for you from Jackie herself...hence we will have to wait till she ends her honeymoon traveling around Europe...sigh...(which I think will be in about 3 weeks). UNLESS Jackie gets to read this while she is away and wants to add a comment! (Or can make a comment..if she can get access..)

Well here is this glam couple..some of you may remember them from a shoot I did a few months ago where they braved the sea and went in clothes and all! see here

Ok Anita wasnt quite up to that in her beautiful "Luci DiBella" gown..hehe.But they were champs and braved dirty laneways and met up with each other prior to their ceremony which was at the Melbourne Town Hall to capture some images, hence they wouldnt be keeping the guests waiting so long.

Here is the 1st part from this great wedding!! Pinar & Levant decided to met prior to the ceremony to have ALL their photos done (family and all!!) this allowed them to get straight into party mode after the ceremony which happened in the middle of the reception room and then they had an AMAZING pro guy there with a big spot light!! OMG I was in heaven!....the interesting light it was giving was out of this world and I had so much fun working with it!!! ..hehee..can you tell I am a LITTLE excited! as I clap my hands and do a happy dance (ok not a good look and glad there is no visual LOL)

Ok one of my up and coming weddings is going to be AMAZING! the bride is wearing a colour..(but cant tell who or what colour just yet...as none yes none of the guests know!! hehe)...and by colour I mean COLOUR with a capital "C", not colour as in a silver, soft pink or even pale blue if you are getting my drift. AND a little birdy told me she could be even wearing a BLACK veil...OH my THIS is SOOOO exciting. You go girl!!!!
